At a moment when the world is entering uncertain times, with national authorities taking extraordinary measures to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, disrupting the daily lives of our societies, we see ourselves as a provider of an essential service: contributing to the safe mobility of people and goods such as food or medicine.


Over the last days, we have experienced an unexpected level of demand for cars, appearing as an alternative to public transportation and as a way to provide companies in various sectors with the means for their delivery services.


Our network remains at your service.
As the European rental leader, confronted with the decision to keep our stations open - or to close them, we consider that general interest must prevail. Please find here the list of stations that are remaining open and at your service, mainly in airports.

Your safety, as well as the safety of our people, is our #1 priority!

In addition to the reinforced vehicle cleaning measures we have already implemented, with the systematic use of disinfectant agents, we are also currently deploying extra measures in these key stations: systematic desk disinfection between each customer and "zero contact" policy (vehicle key sealed in an envelope once disinfected).

We have made the decision to offer free and unlimited modifications, except when you choose our non-refundable rates. Also, cancellations are free for reservations until May 31, 2020, except when choosing non-refundable rates. Due to the rapid development of the public health emergency situation caused by COVID-19, at national and international level, the Government of Spain has issued instructions with regard to road transport and aviation, published in the Official State Bulletin (BOE) on March, 19th.

According to the Order TMA/254/2020, the opening of self-drive vehicle hire for private use offices will only be allowed with the aim of enabling the vehicle drop off by a customer in relation with contracts concluded before 19th, March 2020.

Abide by this decision, we have moved towards the temporary closure of our offices in Spain and we will maintain them opened only to receive cars from customers once their rental concluded.

*France

The French Government has reduced the movements in the country. Also, since March 17th, have closed borders for 30 days.

Abide by this decision, we have moved towards the temporary closure of certain offices in France and this affects your reservation. Please, see the list of offices closed here. We will keep them open exclusively to receive cars that are returned by customers at the end of their rental, in rental contracts agreed before March 20.

Up to April 12th, you will have to pick up and return your car in the Europcar office.

*Portugal 

According to Decree No. 2-A / 2020 of March 22th published by the Government of Portugal, since March 22, the activities of service provision are suspended in establishments open to the public throughout the country, with the exception of those that provide basic or essential services.

In compliance with this decision, we proceed to temporarily close our rental offices in Portugal. We will maintain them open just for the vehicle return.

If you had a reservation between today and April 2, we offer flexible modifications (except when choosing non-refundable rates) and free cancellations.
