Cheap car hire in Valencia

Arriving in Valencia and picking up a hire vehicle can make the early stages of your visit far simpler. Goldcar provides budget-friendly options, enabling travelers to grab a car at Valencia Airport or in the city centre right after landing or arriving by train.
Valencia sprawls across coastal plains, with key sights and countryside attractions beyond easy reach on foot or public transport. With a car, you can manage your time independently and reach popular landmarks or day-trip destinations without delay.
Goldcar’s fleet includes options for different journeys. Small hatchbacks suit city runs and solo trips. For those with luggage or traveling in pairs, estate cars offer added space. SUVs are available for longer routes or excursions into mountainous terrain. Automatics are listed when available. Renewable models, such as electric or hybrid vehicles, may appear at busier times of year.
When you complete your reservation online, all fees are presented upfront. There’s no last-minute insurance markup at the rental desk. At pick-up, you'll need to present your driving licence, an ID or passport, and a payment card in the main driver’s name. Once verified, the key handover concludes the process swiftly.

Where to collect your car in Valencia

Goldcar’s desks are located inside Valencia Airport’s arrivals zone and also in the city’s main transport areas. If landing at Manises Airport, simply follow the car hire signs inside the terminal to reach the counter. Staff will confirm your details and point you to a short walk to the car park. Collection requires no shuttle, making it a quick transition from plane to road.
Returning your vehicle is similarly convenient—head to the designated drop-off bay, hand over the keys, and you’re back in the airport within minutes.
For travelers beginning in central Valencia, city pick-up locations may be more convenient than the airport. Just confirm your collection point when booking to avoid confusion.
If you plan to drop the car off elsewhere, ask about one-way rentals at the time of booking. These incur a fee, which is displayed up front.

Getting around Valencia and beyond by car

Valencia is surrounded by coastlines, vineyards, olive groves, and small towns that public transport doesn’t serve directly. A hire car offers the flexibility to reach those spots on your own schedule.
Inside the city, several attractions are within clean driving distance:
  • The City of Arts and Sciences – a modern architectural complex best reached by car if staying outside the city centre.
  • Albufera Natural Park – south of the city, offering tranquil boat rides on a freshwater lagoon.
  • El Saler and nearby beaches – less crowded than urban shores and reached more smoothly by car.
Beyond the coast:
  • Xàtiva – an hour’s drive inland, famous for its castle perched above town.
  • Requena – a wine region west of Valencia with traditional bodegas and countryside roads.
  • Costa Blanca towns – head south to Calpe, Jávea, or Denia for beachside drives and coastal charm.
Highways marked “A” are toll-free and generally well maintained. Toll roads marked “AP” appear on routes heading south or north into neighbouring regions. Petrol stations along highways accept cards. Distances are short enough to visit several locations in a day if you plan efficiently.
Local traffic is manageable outside peak hours. City driving requires attention to zones marked with restricted access, whereas rural roads can narrow and twist. Navigation apps perform well, though printed maps are useful for some remote stretches.
