
Here it is. After several rumors insinuation the cheepest car in the world has arrived, although not available in Europe yet. It is called the Tata Nanom, from an indian manufacturer, an ideal vehicle for the indian market. For those of you who have been to India you know what I mean.
The market price for the Nano, will be around 100,000 rupies, or 2,000 euros, and Tata hopes to sell at least half a million units each year, all in India.
The New Delhi Auto Expo was the chosen place to present the Tata Ratan, by the president of Tata Group. Tata is composed by a cinglomarate industry with certain philantropist air, being that it invests part of its benefits in foundations, even though it also manufactrues buses and trucks, that the famous name brand te (Tetley) purchases.
The Nano is a four seater and measures 3,20 meters and is equipped with a 624 c.c motor gives out 33 CV coupled to a four speed gear box.
It consumes about 4,2 liters at 100 km, it has front disc brakes, a gas deposit of 30 liters and opcional air conditioner. Not mounted, however, are the power steering or radio, the seats are fixed, the dampers are branded white and the instrumentation is reduced to a minimum, with speedometer and fuel level indicator.
