As we commented on a few months back Nokia had devised a mobile device that measures the level of CO2. Now the technology giant is testing an application of mobile phones with an integrated GPS system to measure the density of traffic.

The aim is that the Nokia mobile phone send to the central server the position of our vehicle from time to time. Here, the gadget collects the position of all drivers who use Nokia to form a map in real time jams and fluid channels.

The solution posed by Nokia requires technologies that are already available, such as GPS and the transmission of data through networks UMTS, EDGE or similar.
